Found

alone,
sunken in a cove,
toes dug deep into sand,
i piece together a heart of stones,
much like you did when
you found me
scattered
beneath the sand.
i stare into your eyes, searching
for the mutation which allows you to see me
so clearly.
i feel your hands
caressing my neck,
my head,
the lumps of my face.
i hear your voice
in the throats of birds
calling to me from beyond the shore.
