minutes from san diego
shadow is cast from one coast to the other.
pain is never eluded.
here, it wells in the pits of my eyes & stomach,
fogs along the mexico border.
better to know or wonder?
no need wonder.
possibly, it is not she who needs me,
but i who need her,
who bears the weight of us all
without grimace.
only wet eyes & soft hands.
